Internships and Volunteers
Internship and volunteer services are extremely valuable for our programs and projects. Through the Archives and Records Center, interns and volunteers learn and experience public history. Duties will depend on interests, educational background, experience and the current needs. Email [email protected] for more information.
Typical projects include but are not limited to:

Arrangement and Description: Includes processing agency or organizational collections, arranging photographic collections, indexing reference materials and creating indexes for sacramental registers.

Preservation: Includes flattening and cleaning documents, sorting and filing photographs using conservation materials and preparing records for digitization.

Reference: Includes assisting reference staff in supervising the use of records, explaining finding aids and reference tools and answering inquires for genealogical information.

Records Management: Includes updating the database, developing new ways to collect data, reviewing records up for destruction and assisting in transferring documents to the Records Center.
