INTERNSHIP AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

nternship and volunteer services have extensive value for our programs and projects in the Archdiocese of Chicago Archives & Records Center.
Assigned duties will depend on your interests, educational backgrounds, experiences, and our needs.
Selective list of projects:

AREA	PROJECT
Preservation	Flattening and cleaning documents. Sorting and filing photographs. Preparing records for microfilming.
Arrangement and Description	Indexing finding aids and reference materials. Indexing photographic collections. Indexing architectural drawings. Indexing paintings. Preparing special lists and bibliographies. Preparing annotated bibliographies.
Reference	Assisting reference staff in supervising the use of records. Explaining finding aids and reference tools. Answering inquires for genealogical information. Collecting and indexing materials for the Vertical File.
Records Management	Updating the database.
Educating and Public Relations.	Conducting tours of facilities and exhibitions. Writing feature and new articles. Updating mailing list. Helping with mailing list. Proofreading publications. Staffing special events.
General Administrative Support.	Providing clerical assistance: telephone, photocopying, mailing, word processing.
